Blue Sleeveless

One photo turned out today. For some reason the rest were blurry.  I had to drive today so could wear a pencil skirt.  Lots going on lately, very busy at work, we are moving into a new building with a very short timeline for the move so we suddenly have to go through all our old documents and purge a bunch of stuff. All this on top of the regular workload.  Then at home we are replacing all the gutters on the house and studio as well as repainting the whole outside.  The garden is growing like a monster and we have so many cabbages even the neighbors are turning down the offer of free cabbage (they've already all gotten some once before :)

I LOVE this time of year, the hot weather, having sun makes me feel so alive and healthy. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.  Off for a nice hike this weekend with a friend I haven't caught up with for ages so am really looking forward to that.

I also went to see a nutritionist today and was very excited about seeing her and what will come out of that. I'm always interested in learning more about how to be even more healthy and changing things up abit.  Will share more with you as I go.  Hope you are all well!!

Ship Ahoy

 Last day at work and we are packing the last bits of run stuff and nutrition, clean the house, dump the compost and then head out on our trip for our big ultra adventure.  My in-laws get to stay with the fuzzy white granddaughters this weekend (its a long weekend here in Canada this weekend), and I mean they are here with the cats of course :)

Forecast is for rain where we are doing our run.  Running 100km in the rain. Please let it NOT rain.  Good karma come to me now. PUL LEASE.

Have a super weekend and I'll report back next week.  I love this outfit by the way.  I love fitted clothes and I love these pointy red shoes and I love pencil skirts.  I need to find the equivalent of this outfit in terms of how I feel wearing it so I feel this way every single day (at work at least :)

Star Trek

Not that I was ever a 'Trekky" but I felt like I was from Star Trek today with this outfit.  Not sure that I would pair these booties with these same pants again as I think they need to be more skinny but whatever.  And you can probably see the cat hair on my top. Hah hah

See my fun new eye chart wall hanging? Its going to be hung in the bathroom. So you know. You can test your eyes while your're sitting there.. hah hah

Plain outfit today but I was in a hurry and had to ride my bike. Went out to get the bike and the stoopid tire was flat. So much for getting to work on time today :(

More Snakeskin Please

As you know I love animal prints. I love animals too. Sometimes I feel bad wearing something that looks like an animal.  Snakes aren't all that cuddly and sweet though so I don't really mind wearing snakeskin.  Crazy hair though. So glad my hairdresser, or as some say "my stylist"  is available to fix me up and make me presentable. Don't know about you but it sure feels like I need to go more and more often and need more work. Like an old car. A heritage house, something like that.

Self disclosure here. I'm working from home for the rest of the day and am listening to Journey's Greatest Hits.  Yes, I like them for some reason. My babysitter used to listen to them so it takes me back. Quite awhile.

One of the BEST days

Look what I got in the mail last week? I'm sorry but I have bragging rights here. THIS IS AMAZING!!!  It felt like xmas in September. Can you all recognize the famous mermaid???

Well HELLO!

Well HELLO!!! It's been a long time since I've posted. And where has the summer gone? HOLY Smokes!!  I was so busy with all my trail races this summer I can't believe its mid September already.  I've clocked hundreds and hundreds of kilometer in the mountains lately and my last 50km race went up 8000ft and was in the snow. So crazy and fun. I ended up winning my age category and placing 5th overall so that was kindof neat!

Anyway, getting ready to go off to a week long convention for work. I'm just putting together all my outfits now.  I wish I could pull of blazers. They give a nice professional look to just about anything. Problem is I haven't yet found the perfect one.  Any tips on other items that would make an outfit abit more professional but still slightly casual (I'm not one for sweaters either though :)

That Skirt

I've altered this skirt like 3 times now.  Hemmed it.  Narrowed the sides of it.  Taken in the waist.  I think it even started as a skirt for someone petite which I am clearly NOT.  Anyway, its another of those skirts that I can only really wear when I drive to work or a meeting because its abit hard to ride my bike with it on.  Today I had some meetings with some of our partner agencies so I broke out the pencil skirt. It kindof reminds me of old retro patterns.

I always find it quite fascinating seeing myself objectively through these photos.  What about you? What's it like for you when you review photos of yourself? What are your reactions and thoughts?

Pencil Houndstooth

I was able to squeeze into this skirt today and wore it since I was using the car to go to a conference where I was delivering a presentation.  Suck it in I said to myself.  Sigh. The downside of NOT training for an ironman :(

What you can't see is that there was fine white cat hair all over this top.  I always swore I wouldn't be one of those people who had pet hair all over their clothes.  Not so with 2 white cats and someone who wears black alot.  I now own a nice variety of lint brushes and have one at home, in the car, in my laptop bag and in the top drawer of my desk at work. Wish they made them in leopard pattern. Would be much more fun than just red velvet.

New Favorite Top

I would never have bought this top. Its long and straight- meant to be worn untucked likely and on a rail thin girl or someone who suits straight cut untucked. Thats NOT ME. I like it and tryed it on anyway and had this skirt in mind.  I actually quite like it and nice to have a pop of color with the black.

I've been working late night preparing for a big board meeting coming up can't wait for this weekend since I'm doing a really challenging trail run/mountain climb.  There might even be snow up there.  Will report back on Monday assuming I make it out alive :P

Going for Sleek

A quick throw together outfit that I quite like. I just bought this black skirt with the faux leather waist/hip band and paired it with a black t-shirt.  And what do you think of my new neutral sandals? These shoes are SO comfy even though the heel is high.  Shoddy photography today though as I have the power cord showing in the background. Oh how can you tell I'm not a details person??? hah hah

Did 2 amazing trail runs this weekend and got lots of mileage in on new trails. Oh I love  trail running SO MUCH!!

Classic Chic

I can tell my fashion mojo has been missing for quite awhile. Today right off the bat I got 2 compliments: " Wow, great skirt--love your outfit", "You look really good today".
Compliments on my OUTFIT???  I can't remember the last time I got that kind of compliment which tells me that I've been dressing so usual and boring that no one has noticed anything that stands out or looks good (and at least taken a moment to acknowledge it).

I've got a big closet clean out scheduled and am going to get rid of alot of stuff and make room for some new things. Even a couple of new items can make a big difference and they dont even have to be expensive.  I recently saw this post about key items for updating your wardrobe:  8 Spring Updates for Business Casual.  I think I'm going to go shopping soon!!

Pink Loft Top

It's warm enough to wear shorts to work now and my legs are also brown enough :)  From all the gardening I've been doing lately I'm getting a bit of a tan (I know its bad but I love it anyway:).

I really like this t-shirt from loft.  I like the soft color and also the softness of the silk on it.  I don't see myself as a 'soft-clothing-wearing-kinda-gal' so this is a nice change for me:)

Since I was so sick with that stoopid cold virus this past few weeks I'm currently doing alot of juicing as a way to flood my body with awesome goodness from all the vitamins and enzymes from the fruit and veggies. I feel really awesome and energized from it also.    I came across the Aussie guy Joe who lost tons of weight on a juice diet. Thats unreal. Not sure how anyone can do nothing but juice for months on end.  Must have willpower like an ox.

Nautical

Like my sunglasses? ha ha. They are HUGE. so big they slide down my nose. Oh well. $0.50 at the Thrift store so I can't really complain. Even though I am :)

We've had 1 week off of training since our big 60 km run and ride weekend and its been exquisite! Time to go for long beach walks first thing in the morning before work and even do some photography. It's been a real treat.  I had the day off yesterday and spent the entire day working in our garden. Heaven.

Gracey recently posted about wearing white jeans and I commented that I had never even owned any. This is about the extent of the white pants situation for me and even at that when I wear these about 1 hour into the outfit they get all bagged out in the bum and knees and have no shape to them.  I think I am just not lucky with pants anyway.  I'm also breaking the fashion rules as I am not 'supposed' to wear tops like this that lack any waist definition.  Yes. I am bad. Bad to the bone.

Sneak out of the house Casual Sunday wear

I don't wear t-shirts much unless they are the girlie fitted ones... I HAD to buy this one in Kona though.. was too awesome to pass up.  Went to our team launch party on Friday and a friend asked me to be the photographer for her wedding vow renewal on the weekend- THAT felt like alot of pressure I must say- I am no photographer.. I just have a camera and a self timer thing-a-ma-jig.  Anyway it was a good experience and I did get some pretty awesome photos!  Hung out in the house for the day and had to go out for groceries so not lookin too fancy in these photos.
