Friday Cowl

Friday was that kind of day. I just wanted to stay home, cuddle with the cat and eat cookies all day.  So what did I actually do? Got my sorry a$$ out of bed, got somewhat presentable and went into the office. And ate some cookies :)  It was a long week with some challenges regarding some of the projects we are working on so I was glad to see Friday finally roll around actually.

I pulled out the ankle booties since I rarely wear them.I prefer knee highs but these are easy to slip on and actually very comfy.

Not much else to say other than I hope you all have a super weekend.

TV Static Top

Does this top look like TV static to you?  The hubs thinks so!  I've been playing around with some DIY lighting techniques so my photos are brighter so will be posting some experiments as I go.  Not much to report other than its crazy busy at work since 2 team members are on maternity leave at the same time. Crazy that!  And my trail race is coming up so I've been busy training and doing alot of strength training (squats, lunges, core work).  The legs of my pants are getting abit tighter in the upper leg and I'm hoping thats a result of bigger muscles not all the chocolate I've been eating ( did I tell you that we have gotten into making our own chocolate straight from the bean?).  Its time consuming but worth it. Well, in some ways.  Its bad in that we now have a HUGE stockpile of handcrafted dark chocolate all around the house. One. Must.Taste. Daily.

Hope all is well with each of you out in internet land.

Colorful Black

One of my favorite tops. And of course, boots, another fav.  An easy outfit for riding a bike and keeping comfy.  Nuff said. Hope you all had a super day!

Sweater Time

Just got back from a long weekend (it was Canadian Thanksgiving) and did another 50km trail race which was CRAZY. We experienced the tail end of the hurricane which meant running in 50 mile an hour wind and unbelievable downpour.  The trip was fun overall and now back to work and all the organizational change we're going through.  Its all good stuff but alot of work that requires me to be on my A game and really focused.

Today is my first day of wearing booties and socks. YES socks.  If I could, I would wear shorts and short skirts all year round. I love having bare legs and no socks/tights. I guess I can't complain though because it is quite reasonable here on the west coast in terms of temperature.  Not much to report on other than I'm also doing Whole30 right now.  I pretty much each really really healthy already but thought I would try this 30 day challenge. Today is day 7 and smooth sailing.  Will keep you posted and report on results soon!!

Hope you all had a great day too.

No Meeting Day

I didn't have to leave the office today, was a planning day so I dressed for comfort and almost felt like I was wearing pj's or something.  Most of the girls in the office dress like this all the time as well but when I go out to meetings I definitely have to step it up a notch or 3.  Just got home from my run coaching and we did drills for the whole hour. My.LEGS.are.tired!!

Hope you had a great day.  Are you a runner or have you ever run for exercise?  Do you like it?

Stoopidest Purchase of the Year

An alien must have inhabited my body for a few hours on Sunday. I went to a store to pick up something for someone and walked out with this tunic. I even tried it on. I knew better than to even take it off the rack. I was thinking of Ally's comments "you look good in bold", I remembered Gracey's pattern mixing that I was so inspired by.  I took it off the hanger, into the change room, tried it on.  KNEW it wasn't flattering yet when I came out all the girls cooed and said, thats SO CUTE.  I even walked out with a smile on my face.

Tuesday morning. I get dressed.  Look like I'm wearing a sack.  The hubs convinces me I need a belt with it and tries to downplay the hideousness of it all.  I go to work dressed in it ANYWAY.

All day I just wanted to ask someone what they thought but I fought the urge to make them uncomfortable. I only needed 1, only 1 comment to reassure me that I didn't look like a complete clown. But I DIDNT ASK.

I even tried tying it in a knot at the side (Photo 4).  No returns.  Hopefully they might let me exchange it?

Do you ever return something if you have worn it for at least a few hours?
(At least I can laugh at myself here.... :(

Winter be Gone

The trees are all blooming here and the flowers are exploding with color.  Its almost but not quite time to pull out the spring clothes.  I will wear boots as late into spring/summer as possible though since its one of my favorite fashion items.

Do you have a fashion favorite that you wear all the time or would wear all the time if you could?

Train Tracks

This is a typical example of an outfit I put on without trying first and felt great all day. THEN I saw the photos I took and realized this would have been much better either a) tucked in and with slingback shoes or  2) untucked and with tall leather boots.   I do love the color of this top especially- I may look to buy more blue in the future.

I was going out in the evening so I tried the boots option and it looked pretty good- cognac colored boots, knee-high.

It just started pouring rain as I was packing up my camera so I quickly packed up and ran away.

Hope you had a super day.

Static Wrap Top

This top reminds me of TV static. While I love the color and the concept of this top, it is extremely annoying to wear. The built-in scarf keeps sliding around  and even between the time I adjusted it for the photo and actually took the photo it was already not sitting the way I had it. It slides into this figure 8 configuration and then pulls the sides of the top down so I hang out everywhere. Very strange.  So. I am thinking about how I might be able to sew it to secure it somehow, OR cut the top up and modify the whole thing somehow.  Anyway- What do you think of the new boots? I got these ones recently as well. Nice soft leather and sooo very comfy to wear.  You know me. I love boots!!!

Friday Tunic and my Favorite Boots

I'm loving that I have more (and private) photoshoot locations with our new house!! It's awesome. These are the doors to our studio.  Its got a wood stove in it and lots of storage space. We will use it to store our big cooking stuff (Big Chief Smoker, sausage stuffer, Champion Juicer, Canner, extra canning jars, etc).  AND there's room for a big table so I can have friends over to have collage parties, and we can also set up our wind-trainers on bad weather days and ride our bikes indoors!! This can be a total fitness room as well.  So exciting!!

These grey boots are among my favorites. I got them a few years ago when everything was going on sale after xmas.  They are almost $300 and I got them for $70.  I love those kinds of deals!!

I'm off for a 3.5 hour bike ride today (Saturday) and fingers crossed the weather holds out.  Today is focused on hill repeats. URGH!    Have a super awesome weekend, whatever you do!

Like a Tree

Hello there! Today I' disguised as a tree. An outfit that makes cycling to work easy. An outfit that leaves me comfy while I sit at my desk all day long.  See what is written on my whiteboard in my office?  I use the Getting Things Done system by David Allen. Its a productivity system that I find highly effective. Anyway, his premise is that our minds are like water and unless we capture (right down, or document in some way) information, we will most likely forget it. This is indeed accurate. I use Evernote on my iPhone to keep track of things when I am out and about and I even have a running list of photoshoot locations (ie. nice backdrop walls, graffiti, train tracks, etc) so that when I have the chance to get out for photos I can easily find good locations.  What about you? What do you use to track information, to manage your projects?

Day 2 of the Wild Rose Detox Cleanse as well. I pretty much eat simple regularly anyway so this is not so hard to do, just helps to cut back on the dark chocolate :)

Sporting the BIG glasses

And the movie star sun glasses. HUGE. No one will recognize me with these on! LOL  My casual look for a day in the office today. Holed up in the office preparing materials for the board meeting.  AND my new nail polish color. Had a date with one of my BFF's yesterday to go get our nails done. Was super fun and we will have to do it again! This is super woman polish- lasts for about 3 weeks!!

Over n out on Wednesday afternoon. xoxo J

Long Black Sweater

I tried the long sweater with no belt today. I must admit I felt slightly awesome and a little frumpy at the same time.  For my body type I should wear belts. Hourglass figures, we curvy kinda gals need the definition so that the curves don't all just blend together and spell LARGE.  And at first I almost felt like I was wearing a cape the way it would flap behind me as I walked.  Thats it for today...awesome- frumpy-cape-wearing Jodi.

Until tomorrow. Have an awesome evening :)

Never too much Leopard

Happy Saturday Night.  The newest addition to my leopard scarf family.  I can't get enough leopard.  Well, I am not as bad as Edith Prickly, but secretly wish I were :)

Grey Tunic for Grey Day

I do have a red ring and red earrings on given its Valentines Day!!  I was going to get rid of this tunic and for some reason kept it and wore it again- I am still not convinced and it still has the chance of a one way trip out of my closet.

I hope you are all having a great day and you feel the love today on Valentines Day!! woo hoo

Red Bird Scarf

Busy weekend. Just came home from a brunch with awesome girlfriends followed by a baby shower. Had no idea what to wear and came up with a black tunic, leggings and my favorite red bird scarf.  Very comfortable Sunday attire. I looked great aside from when the baby spit up on me :)

Happy Sunday!! xo J

Grey Fuzzy Chewbacca

Today I am wearing my Chewbacca tunic. I always feel HUGE wearing heavier knits and there is a fine line between the weight of fabric that I can wear not.  Even my hair color is somewhat like Chewies now too... hope you enjoy :0

Question: Does Jodi look like Chewie YES/NO   :)
