Houndstooth and Red
Wow, I had a super trip to San Francisco. I love that city. So awesome. I walked so much. Just sight seeing and enjoying people watching. Lots of excellent restaurants and coffee shops. Wish I had a few more days there but back to work it was for me today! I can only wear this pencil skirt on days I use the car. NO way can I ride my bike in this one :) I also love this red top, super comfy and fitted. I have never liked wearing those flowy kind of tshirt material tops that hang and move around. Makes me feel fat and frumpy.
Hope you all had a super weekend and an excellent start to your week.

New Favorite Top
I would never have bought this top. Its long and straight- meant to be worn untucked likely and on a rail thin girl or someone who suits straight cut untucked. Thats NOT ME. I like it and tryed it on anyway and had this skirt in mind. I actually quite like it and nice to have a pop of color with the black.
I've been working late night preparing for a big board meeting coming up can't wait for this weekend since I'm doing a really challenging trail run/mountain climb. There might even be snow up there. Will report back on Monday assuming I make it out alive :P
Happy Weekend

Dream
Happy Thursday. Well. I was wanting to show you the new pendant I got that I'm wearing and it says DREAM on it, with a little peacock. Hence the title of the blog post.
The photo didnt turn out so too bad. You have to use your imagination. I am SOOO tired of living amongst boxes!! The big move is January 1 so I look forward to getting over to the new house and hope to have a better venue for indoor photos as well. Now the new neighbours will see me lurking around looking for outdoor locations. Nothing like starting off on a weird foot!!
Boring outfits have been a staple for the past months. I just don't seem to have the same ooomph I had before. I'd love a style overhaul in the new year. For example I was wondering what I would look like as a HIPSTER. Would lumberjack and skinny jeans with heavy rimmed glasses suit me? Maybe I will try it.. LOL I just might!
Any styles that you would like to try that you haven't ????

The Interview
Today: up early. Work from home from 6:00am- 8:30am. Teach my spin class. Quickly shower and get to work to conduct interviews. Interviews are always fun. It's so interesting to be the one conducting the interview. My goal always is to have the person be at ease and feel relaxed and not worry about 'getting it right' but rather speaking from the heart and being themselves. I was initially going to wear a pencil skirt and fitted top kindof like my outfit from Tuesday, however, I choose the fun and frilly type of look instead. Not sure what first impression I made but there was alot of smiling and laughter during the interview so that's a good sign!!
Hope you all had great days!! J

Another Day Another 50's Style Skirt
I was born in the wrong era. I should have been living in the 50's with all those small waisted fitted skirts and pants. Sigh. At least I can find these items for under $5.00 at the thrift stores!!
Most eventful happening today: I was walking down the street and 2 young boys (about 13 yrs old) asked me if I had an extra cigarette they could have. I burst out laughing and said: " Do I look like someone who smokes?" and just laughed my head off. I think they thought I was crazy. Anyway, thats like the biggest insult I could ever get. ICKY. I have never and will never smoke cigarettes in my life.

Drying Clothes
This is amongst one of the favorite photos I took in Thailand while we were going down the river in a boat. It was early evening and I loved the light and the bit of pink on the clothes line.
Hope you had a super weekend everyone!! xo Jodi

Using the Color Wheel
Some of you are artistic and already know this stuff, and others don't but have a natural knack for color combining. For anyone who's looking for new ideas for mixing your colors and shaking up the ol reliable black wardrobe, here's some helpful tips I found at Fashionbombdaily :
You can make the following combos using the color wheel as your guide:
1. Colors directly next to each other (i.e. yellow and yellow-orange; yellow and yellow-green; violet and blue-violet, etc.)
2. Colors that form right (90 degree) angles with each other (i.e. yellow and red-orange; blue and violet-red; green and orange, etc.)
3. Colors directly across from each other (i.e. yellow and violet; blue and orange; red and green, etc.)
4. Colors that form a T (i.e. blue, orange, and violet-red; yellow, violet, and red-orange; yellow, blue-green, and red-orange, etc.)
5. Colors that form an X (i.e. blue, orange, violet-red, and yellow, violet, blue-green, and red-orange, etc.)
Since brown is a neutral, it will go with virtually any color on the color wheel. I love to pair a chocolate brown with cobalt blue or fuchsia or bright red—such a fun and bold combo. Of course white, black, and the hues of blue found in denim are also neutrals that go with just about anything.
Colors that are a part of a “color family” also apply. So for instance, you can substitute pink with red and still be able to pull off the combos based on the color wheel.
As for accessories, I’m definitely not a fan of colored jewelry or belts, but go crazy with colored hats, bags, shoes, or scarves. When choosing jewelry, pair gold (or gold-toned) jewelry with your warm colored outfits. Warm colors have a yellow, gold, or orange undertone to them. Wear silver (or silver-toned) jewelry with your cool colored outfits. Cool colors have a blue, pink, or red undertone to them. Since colors are broken down by hue, temperature, intensity, and tone any single hue can be either warm or cool. Just look at the undertones.
You can also use the color wheel when coming up with color combinations for your makeup. It can help you decide which makeup color to wear so that you don’t match your eyeshadow with your outfit.
