My first KNIT
Well hello everyone!! I spent a good amount of time visiting family over the holidays and where my mom lives she is not connected to the internet so it was actually a good break from being on the computer. One of the things I DID do was teach myself to knit. This is my very first knitting project and I had no pattern or anything.
Ingredients: 2 fat knitting needles and 2 balls of wool from the thrift store. This infinity cowl cost me $2.00 in wool and about a day of time to knit. It was fun to make (and yes there are lots of mistakes in it :) but was a learning experience. I am now half way through my second one (grey wool) and will show you the results soon!!
I hope everyone enjoys your last day of 2012!!! xo Jodi

Red Bird Scarf
Busy weekend. Just came home from a brunch with awesome girlfriends followed by a baby shower. Had no idea what to wear and came up with a black tunic, leggings and my favorite red bird scarf. Very comfortable Sunday attire. I looked great aside from when the baby spit up on me :)
Happy Sunday!! xo J

Flying Grey Squirrel goes to the market
My new flying squirrel cape. Thats how I felt today, like i could jump out of a tree and fly like a flying squirrel. Don't worry. I won't actually do it. Well not before a few glasses of wine anyway.. LOL. Market day and we have an xmas party tonight. Will get some party outfit photos to share later!!

That 70's Top
On another note, breaking another fashion rule. I am not supposed to wear empire waist type clothes. Some days you just want to be a renegade. AND I bought a new cape today too, another item I shouldn't wear. I look forward to seeing how it looks via outfit photos. That always helps to put it in perspective. Like that purple tunic vest I tryed a while back. I took that sucker back after seeing these photos!!! The other stupid purchase was the Chewbacca Sweater. Oh well, at least I am learning!! LOL

This weather drives me crazy-- so dark and hard to get out to good photoshoot locations hence I am not getting very good backdrops anymore.. got to dial up the creativity...
Hope you are having a great day everyone!! xo J

Green Leather Skirt and HIppy Top
The second wearing of my green leather skirt. Click here for launch of this skirt last year. It was $4.00.
I must admit, I did feel abit weird going into work wearing this today since the other organization we share the building with all dress is very conservative business attire- they are all policy-analysts and very business-like. My group all wear different clothes so we always stand out. Nice to give someone else something to laugh about over dinner I guess :) Maybe when I tire of this skirt I can cut it up and make wallets for all my friends... LOL.. or maybe not :)
hope you are having a day worth someone else talking about ;P

Purple Skirt
Bad weather = white sheet. Quick photoshoot with a sheet taped to the wall. Not the greatest light but you get the idea. Yes I was on the run today. This is that bargain skirt I posted here that I bought for 50 cents.
Swam this morning, got lots done at work, went for my running drills coached workout and now home. Hope you had a super day and looked marvelous too!! J

All Black Office Attire
A great find at the thrift store- a very fitted black skirt and its even designer!! I'm even wearing my favorite ring (handmade in Paris!!). Very windy stormy weather today- made my hair a mess but oh well being in black still made me feel good!!
I also bought the cutest dress for an upcoming xmas party. I have black light-suede ankle booties that I will wear with some kind of chandelier or tear drop earrings. Can't wait!!
Hope you all had a great day!!

Grey Fuzzy Chewbacca
Today I am wearing my Chewbacca tunic. I always feel HUGE wearing heavier knits and there is a fine line between the weight of fabric that I can wear not. Even my hair color is somewhat like Chewies now too... hope you enjoy :0

Purple Bat- Keep or Toss?
Okay Fridays are good days to be rebels right? Well, I am rockin the kind of top I AM NOT SUPPOSED TO WEAR. Bat arms. Not for me. Length. Questionable. Purple. Depends on the shade.
What do you think? Keep or Toss?

Black and Grey Chic
I finally went to see my awesome stylist for some bit of 'pep' to my hair. She put a few more highlights in and trimmed it up abit since it was getting to be like an unruly bush. It was all one length and I can't wear it down that way- just looked like a big mop on my head. Now I have few layers so perhaps I'll debut 'Jodi with her hair down" on one of these posts!!
Quick shoot at lunch today... am wearing a black sweater dress and black tights underneath. I like this grey tunic/sweater/dress but I can't say I feel fabulous in it. It's one of those items the sales lady talked me into buying if you get my drift. Anyway, I pull the old rag out here and there to get a few wears out of it to feel like I have gotten my money's worth :0
Hope you are feeling awesome in what you are wearing and with what you are doing today!! xo j

Born in the Wrong Era
I can take a skirt off a rack that was made in the 50's, hold it up to me and know it will fit like a glove without trying it on. 10 out of 10 times this is what happens. Clearly. My body was made for the 50's. I guess I am behind the times, or behind in an era. Anyway. Another lovely red wool skirt got saved from the thrift store because of me. $3.00 was not a bad price either. I could barely buy and americano for that price. I found a run down location down by one of the local boat ramps so thought it would be fun to pose there with all the knarly fisherman walking around. Sorry there are none of these men in the photos but I wasn't brave enough to ask them to pose with me :0
Yes, and don't you love the plastic sport watch as an accessory. I forgot to take it off after my workout this morning.. oh well. See, you can't take the sport out of the girl. Not quite a total fashionista yet. Not sure if I ever will be, but that's worthy of a whole other blog post!!
Have a super day!! xo J

Holiday in my back yard
Leisure Day today. As it was a holiday. I started out with yoga, then starbucks, then meeting my man for breakfast. Then we went for drive in the afternoon and went to a cidery to test some local cider. This is my casual getting into trouble outfit :).
Happy Monday!! xoxo J

I always wanted to be a James Bond Girl
Black fitted tunic turtle neck with a built in belt. Leggings and knee- high boots. I always feel like a Bond Girl when I wear this outfit. Or at least I wish I was. I think I mentioned before I like the Bridgette Bardot look.. that whole era had some awesome fitted outfits! I have a hair intervention next week. Going to see my hair stylist who I miss so much. A trim or bit of style and some color will feel awesome!! woo hoo cant wait!
Hope you are having a noteworthy day... and if you AREN'T-- what could you do to make it one?? Mwah xoo J

Conference Attire
And some more experimentation with hotel lighting. This is the first wear of this new pencil skirt and I love it!! It was not confining- had enough stretch to be comfortable and very body defining. I love the bombshell look- hey- if you have curves its pretty hard to hide them so may as well work with it right? And, I would never have worn little ankle booties with a skirt before because I was always told if you have thick ankles you should stay away from this kind of thing- I actually felt pretty good in this outfit today and felt physically comfortable ( could walk and move around!)- thats a bonus!
I hope you all had a super day today!! xo J
