January: Month of Color

Friday- jeans day!  And such lame photos today since it was raining and I did the shoot inside. These are about as lame as the photos from when I first began blogging!!! Yes, yes, I know lame is an outdated word...

GUESS WHAT?? Since you have heard me complaining about all the black in my wardrobe I realized its time to take action here! SO I am declaring January the month of color. What this means is as of my next post and for the rest of January, I will be wearing colors and little to no black!  (Now I have to get my butt out shopping woo hoo).  Seriously, I have too much black so I am going to go out and hunt for some splashes of color to add (SKIRTS!) so I  can shake up the blackaholic in me (kindof like a 12 step program for color!! LOL).  Of course, I will be visiting you all for ideas as usual and my fav UK blogger Emma is always a color inspiration so perhaps I begin looking like a clone of her??? I could only WISH!!  And then... well. What could the theme for February be? Oh boy!!

Toodle doo dahlings until next time.  And yes, I did swim this morning at 6am and thats why you see me with bloodshot eyes (full of chlorine!! urgh) - will post you an idea of what my weekly workouts look like another time!!  xoxo J

  2. The necklace & earrings are gorgeous! I would wear more black but I have two white cats... gray seems to hide the cat hair better, but now I have WAY too much gray. It's hard when you love a neutral to wear other things!

    Good luck with color month!

  5. Sounds like a fun plan! I'd try thrifting some new skirts, I just found one today that I'm going back for tomorrow! I want to add more color and pattern to my wardrobe too! Bring on the challenge :)

  8. You're so right... great minds do think alike! Watch out for my post in the next couple of days. This was sparked by the realization that 70% of my closet is comprised of funeral wear! Though I love black.. I just can't hide behind it forever!

p.s. Book it babe and lemme know, we got lots to see, lots to shop!

    besos,

  10. Thanks Jodi, you say the sweetest thing. Off to a wedding today and felt the need to inject some colour into the proceedings so it should be a bright one. Hooray for colour month (although I love it when you wear black with little pops of bright, like today).

  11. One of my favorite color combos is Black/White/Red...I just love it and you did a great job here. But, I look forward to seeing your month of color..doing this is a traditional dreary month is really smart!!

  13. I completely understand about color. I naturally gravitate to all things black and grey. In fact, when I first started my blog, one of my goals was to be more colorful. It's a goal I'm still working on. I've found scarves to be a nice, safe way to dabble with color. Good luck on your colorful shopping trip :)

  14. Jodi, man I have missed you! I have been soo busy lately. (And I have barely had any time to take pictures of things.. which i'm so upset about). But these pictures are not LAME! I love the way the first one was shot! -The lense focused only on your face and blurred everything else. I love all your pictures, I am going to go check all your past posts out since i've been out of the loop for awhile!
    Miss you ♥

  15. I <3 that you're going for more color! Accents, bigger pieces, it all does the trick. You DO look great in color, so go rock it sister!

Those pix are not lame, btw. Chlorinated eyes? Dude, you went swimming at 6am, wear those bloodshot peepers like a badge of honor!

I think growing up in the south, we just tend to lean toward color for some reason
Love the red earrings. I don't have any red earrings. On my list of things to get now
