For the love of animal print

Another animal top I love.  And these are amongst the few pairs of pants that I love. Finally I found some long enough for me. They are made by a Dutch designer so thats probably why.

I remember the days I went out and took my photos around town.  Now I just do it with my grey wall. Funny how moving influenced when and where I take my photos. Our back yard is not so private from the neighbours now and I don't feel like answering questions about why I take a photo of myself everyday.  Who knows, maybe they already know about my blog anyway... That would be funny.

Emergency Exit

After I got dressed I realized I look like a flight attendant today.  I got to work and had 2 people say right off the bat " you look nice today" then I waved my arms along my sides and indicated the emergency exits were to the side and they laughed and said " yeah, you do look kindof like a flight attendant".
I had a HUGE weekend of exercise. Does that sentence make sense? Does it evoke the sense that I did alot of activity this weekend?  Friday I cycled 100km (fast pace). Saturday we ran 5 hours at East Sooke Park (read: HILLY TRAILS), Sunday we ran 4.5 hours around Mt. Work, Francis King Park, and a bunch of other hilly challenging loop dee doos.  Sunday I ran 2.5 hours around Elk Lake.  Whoa you say. Thats alot of exercise!  It WAS.  I'm currently training for a 100km trail run that will take place in a really remote and beautiful alpine area in the US.  Can't wait and have to keep training hard to ensure I am strong and ready to go.

So today, legs off.  No exercise for me other than walking up and down the isles of the airplane :)
Hope you had a great day.

Leather Lady

I was wondering if my google analytics would go up simply because I put 'Leather' in the title of my post. Ha ha. A few years ago I had someone following me who kept telling me about the leather pants he wore, that he couldn't stop wearing leather pants to work.  Every time I happened to post something about leather he was back.  Well hello MR LEATHER if you are back reading this :)

I was inspired by Suzanne's recent post on chic leather style about all her awesome leather and it reminded me I had this skirt. Since it was a day I was driving to work I thought I'd wear it.  Not sure I would attempt to ride my bike in this outfit :)

And then there are these ' Fergalicious' leopard lined boots. I don't wear them all that often. The heel is abit narrow and I actually had even forgotten I had them.

I got lots of compliments at work and comments like " wow, leather!"  This made me think of some of the stories Sheila told me about wearing leather to work.   NO, I did not smack my butt at the photocopier and say "Who's your daddy".. hah hah
Happy Thursday.

The Blazer

Last week I told you I found a blazer that I actually like. It's office-y, which is what I needed for the occasional meeting.

This outfit is pretty conservative but I did have to go to a fairly conservative meeting yesterday.  Next time I'll spice this up with abit more color- different blouse or something.  I like the fit and the neckline of this blazer though.  Not bad for $6!!

This was my friday casual outfit.

You've heard me rant about stripes before. I continue to battle with them. Meaning. I continue to try to wear them despite them not wanting to be worn by me.  Sometimes I just sacrifice style for comfort. Friday was a paperwork day and I didnt have any meetings so not many people saw me anyway!

Heck, who doesn't feel good with a pink scarf on?
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend.

Happy Tuesday! I hope you are all wearing something that you feel awesome in today.

Simple

Another find ala Sheila.  This grey top has a zipper at the back which we  both thought was a cute detail.  I had to ride around down on my bike to various meetings today so wanted to wear pants.  So many people comment about wearing shoes like this and riding my bike.  Ha ha Well, the Dutch designed great commuter bikes for things like this!   Good thing I can ride my bike in these shoes cuz I sure can't walk very far in them!!

My other favorite trench coat. I do have a thing for trenches thats for sure.  When I was young I always wanted to be a lady detective just so I could wear these awesome jackets!

Working from home today which means I have cats fighting over who gets to sit on my <insert any of these> lap, computer, shoulder, desk, paperwork, snack... Fun Fun.

Wrap Around Me

Someone left the camera on manual focus... hmmm wonder who that could have been. OH DARN it was ME!!  So my photos are creatively artistic today :)
I love wrap dresses and hardly wear this one. I got inspired to pull my dresses out and start wearing them.

This is from when I changed the lens to the prime lens.. somehow the photo is in focus (by mistake obviously ha ha).
The gal that works with me in the office said " OH, you look nice today. You must have a power meeting or something...".  No, I replied. Just time to wear the dresses I have :)

My stylish inspector Gadget jacket.

AND  I can't wait to show you the fitted blazer I found today!!!  I have never been able to find a blazer that suits/looks good on me and this one is perfect!!  I think I got good luck from Sheila or something. The fashion gods are acknowledging me for making good purchases this weekend or something.  I can hardly wait to show you this blazer. Now I have something to pull out when I need it for those kinds of meetings!!

Hope you all had a super day especially since it's hump day and all.  Sorry if I made your eyes hurt with my blurry  photos.

Do I look like a Tablecloth?

Happy Tuesday!  This whole outfit was put together solely so I could wear my new coat. I thought a pink scarf would look good with it and so I ended up putting on this dress. The outfit just created itself really. But all in the name of wearing THE COAT.

I must admit, even though I totally trust and admire Sheila's fashion sense and her advise when we went shopping together there was a moment I hesitated and almost put this coat back on the rack.  Then I thought I would regret it if I did so I bought it.  I was still not sure. Mainly because it didn't really feel like me. I brought it home, washed it and while it was hanging out on the clothesline the hubs says "is that a new coat?" ... "it's kinda cool".
Well. Thats rare. He usually doesn't comment on my clothes all that much.

So I get to work this morning and I'm there about 10 minutes and someone from our office says to me as I'm going up the stairs " Wow, I love that jacket".  Okay so I guess I don't look like a tablecloth I'm thinking to myself.  And I am feeling somewhat self conscious that the shoulders are too wide.
NO ONE HAS ASKED ME ABOUT THE PLAYOFFS.

Then I go to a lunch meeting for work and as we are all leaving afterwards one of my colleagues says " Wow, I love that stylish coat".  I'm like, oh, I don't look like a tablecloth?  And she just rolls her eyes and says "You crack me up".

Okay. Its official. This is a cool coat. And Sheila did tell me so.  SHE DID WARN ME.  She said " Just wait til you get compliments all over the place on this".  I'm booking my next shopping date. IMMEDIATELY :)

New Duds

Well hello! Its been awhile. I was away on my annual trip with my family. Yes, we went to Mexico. Was nice to get away from the grey and rain and have 2 weeks of sun and adventure!  I even broke out and bought a vacation hat rather than wearing my trucker ball cap :)

I got back to look forward to a long awaited shopping trip with none other than Sheila from Ephemera.
We met back in July at the bloggers meet up in Vancouver and her and I and Ally from Shybiker hit it off right away.  Sheila has such awesome style I had to see if she would take me out shopping some time.  Yesterday we battled the wind warnings and torrential downpour and spent several hours together.

I purchased some things I likely would never have even noticed on the racks! So fun and I'm excited to wear some of these new finds!

I almost put this one back. Will be curious to see what you all think :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE this one.  I came with a skinny purple belt (yeah, purple) and Sheila also kept reminding me its not up to someone else to tell me where my waist is :)  That should be a trademarked Sheila quote :)

Same thing, I don't know that I would have seen this on my own and am excited to wear it once it gets warmer around here (better happen soon!)

I also learned some awesome tips about label reading, feeling fabrics, slips and much more which was totally educational for me.

Ally, we also agreed that you need to get your butt up here and visit so the 3 of us can get out and have some fun shopping and visiting.  Come on. We are waiting :0

Thanks again to Sheila for the great time together.  Can't wait to do it again! She also bought some fun items I can't wait to see soon!!
