Sassy Monday
Happy Monday to you all. It's finally beginning to feel like spring. Sunnier days, warmer weather. I always feel sassy when I wear these kinds of skirts and boots. The skirt moves when I walk and my boots go "click click click" on hard surface floors. I got tons of work done today as well so I think I channeled energy from my sassy outfit.
Hope you had a great start to your week? YES?NO?

Black Dress and Animal
I had about 10 minutes to get home, take my photo, get changed, grab a snack and then head off to my run session. Crazy busy at work right now but I'm still managing to get my outfits in order and take photos. Its been great connecting with you all more lately as well!!
I don't wear this dress much cuz it seems bait short for work but I broke it out today and added some animal print for fun. I love this scarf. I actually really love black and brown together and would never have paired the 2 colors had I not been blogging. I get so many ideas from reading all of your blogs which is fantastic. So. Thank you to those of you who wear black and brown together. I got the idea from you!!

Red and Leopard? Leopard and Red?
It was POURING rain today and I rode to work and home for lunch and back wearing this outfit and my beige trench coat. Yes, I got soaked. Especially my hair! I just felt soggy and frizzy all day. Thats life though right? You just have to roll with it and not let circumstances dictate how your day goes. I love riding my dutch-style commuter bike in skirts and heels and my bag in the basket on the back, its so fun regardless of whether its raining or not.
I definitely feel WAY better wearing defined waists, larger belts etc vs baggier looser clothing. I just need to shake things up and mix and match more outfit ideas.
Tonight we are siphoning our homemade elderberry cherry wine into bottles. How fun. We're always making some kind of homemade concoction around here!
What are you doing tonight?

Feeling Frisky
My apologies. Its been awhile! My mom was visiting which was awesome- we hit all the thrift stores and new stores and grocery stores and liquor stores and beaches, etc :) Seriously, we had a super time and I love my mom tons. Training has been taking up alot of time this season since I am going to be running several ultra races. I have a 60 km cross country run coming up soon so have been putting in alot of milage for that. 2 hour run in the morning, 2 hour run after work. My calves are starting to look pretty hot if I don't say so myself :) Maybe will show you sometime.
I did a sock bun today since I wasn't commuting to work by bike. I love high buns and this one turned out not too bad. I need more practice to perfect it. This is the conundrum. I commute to work by bike so its hard to do a nice hairdo that you can actually wear under the helmet. Since I also then use the bike to go downtown for meetings during the day its not like I want to be doing my hair up all fancy again each time I go somewhere. What is a girl to do? I end up just wearing my hair plain which is totally boring.
Anyway, as if this is really anything important anyway when there's way worse things happening in the world.
I hope you are all well. I'm taking off on a 360 km ride this weekend. Its our annual 360 ride. We ride 180 km up, spend the night in a hotel and then ride home the next day. There will be about 25 of us going. I love it and its one of my favorite rides so should be fun.
Thats it for now. Over n out.

Green and Leopard
Its cold out and I have to ride my bike so I dress for riding comfort. And look at the mess our house is with all the boxes everywhere? Moving day is soon approaching and I'm getting more and more eager. I also happened to snap a cat ACTION shot by accident. She is moving so fast her head is blurred. Luckily the other one is slow so I can use her nice white fur as a background. She in actual fact DID used to be a cat model when she was young. She was kindof a big deal. Now she's retired and abit overweight and living a simple life with us.
Gotta run, the chicken is burning in the frying pan :)

Planned Obsolescence
Good early morning! I am up and out early this morning and came into work for 7am to get stuff done since I'm not at the pool. Its one of those days where I'll be at my desk all day so just grabbed something comfortable and have that "I don't care what I'm wearing" attitude. Sitting at my desk all day requires something comfortable so this is one of the go-to's.
I have also made a pact with myself that I won't be buying anymore new clothes this summer since I have a closet full of stuff and really don't NEED more. Instead I am investing in getting a new camera- woot woot!. I think the key trick for clothing is buying items that are classic and timeless so they last and you always look fashionable- not like those people wearing shoes that are so obviously not in fashion (don't you LOVE that planned obsolescence (worth watching this little 3 min video).
Have a super day!!

A girl can never have too much animal
I didn't have any pink leopard so had to buy this top when I saw it, plus I love tunics and boots. SO. The man is away for 2 weeks and I have the house to myself for 2 whole weeks. While some may find it lonely, I am really excited to have the space to myself!!! We have such a small house (900 sq. ft) theres not much room for alone time. I travel alot with work so he gets the house to himself alot-- I rarely do. Not that I'll be doing anything much different, its just me and my furry best friend, its gonna be AWESOME!!
Have a super weekend awesome fashionistas!! I am off for my bike ride. xoxo Jodi

Sneaking Around in a Leopard Skirt
Okay Okay. I broke out in a KINDA- smile... and I was sneaking around this morning too. I sneaked (is that a word :) the fiance's little point and shoot camera to use with the gorilla pod and came to work early this morning. I went down to the caretakers unit (is vacant) and took this photo. Either the point and shoot is really good or I completely suck with my big fancy camera because these photos didnt turn out too bad. All I had to do was turn it on, set the timer and run into position. And let me just say-- I AM SICK OF THIS RAIN!! I think I managed to snap this during the only 10 minutes it wasn't raining all day.
thats my rant and musings for today. Ciao xo Jodi

Never too much Leopard
Happy Saturday Night. The newest addition to my leopard scarf family. I can't get enough leopard. Well, I am not as bad as Edith Prickly, but secretly wish I were :)

And the next challenge
Hello fashionistas! September is one of my favorite months- still sunny and warm and colors begin to turn. Boot season is just around the corner! My triathlon race season is officially over. I had a really tough final race, however when you are out there battling the elements and you always have a Plan B in your backpocket- while you can train for months and be physically and mentally ready, you never know what you will be faced with on race day. I have now been competing for 7 years- only seriously racing for about 3. This year I placed 4th in a half ironman distance and 3rd in an Olympic distance race. My hope for this recent long distance race was to qualify for the world championships in Hawaii but due to having to resort to PLAN B during the race I was really thrilled to even finish. Lots to learn and always grateful to be safe out there on the swim, bike and run- and of course, celebrate all our accomplishments with my teammates.
We head to Hawaii in October for fiance to compete in Ironman in Kona so I'll be training with him to keep him company for the next 6 weeks along with yoga, weights and running a few half marathons. (Got to get bikini ready right??)
As for the outfit.. this is one of my favorite skirts and just by accident paired it with this top and kinda like the color combo. As always- a wide belt helps to narrow the waist!
Hope all is well with each of you!!! Happy Tuesday. xox J
