As I look in my closet and see all the black staring back at me I know it's serious time for an overhaul coming up (READ: Get rid of a bunch of black!). Some useful resources I have found:
- Save money by spending time in your closet (YouLookFab)
- Wardrobe strategy: fewer options can be fab (YouLookFab)
- Creating a working closet (Part I) Purge (Kendi Everyday)
- Creating a working closet (Part II) Assess (Kendi Everyday)
- How can I organize my closet to make my morning easier (WorkChic.com)
- Effective inventories and honed style (Already Pretty)
- Grouping: and easy route to a happier closet (Already Pretty)
We can all benefit from this type of review and sorting. Things often get away from us as we indulge our personal preferences. Consciously editing our closet is smart. Thanks for the tips and references.
ReplyDeleteGreat selection of posts, Jodi. I just need to apply those principles to the mess I call my wardrobe. Thanks for the links.
ReplyDeleteAs a fact my closet is quite decluttered now, but it took me a year!
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question: I haven't decided upon a special race yet, but hopefully there will be a 10k somewhere around August/September. Until then I just focus on leaning out.
Happy new year to you too.

Blackaholic's remorse?
ReplyDeleteOoooh, going for any specific colours in mind? Or just not black? This will be very interesting and I am sure we will all take something away from your experience :)
ReplyDeleteI think we all have the same thing on the brain. out with the old, in with the new! I have the same problem of buying too much black, here's to trying to break out of a rut!
ReplyDeleteThat was a great resource Jodi. As I am finding myself preparing for spring, this was perfect.

Start with colored tops, cardigans, and accessories to add to your black pants and dresses that way you don't need to get rid of some of your lovely black pieces. :)
ReplyDeleteI too am a blackaholic! One of my new year resolutions is to wear more color!
ReplyDeleteGreat post.

I definitely have a lot of black in my closet. I need to do a big closet cleanout, it's just so hard to get rid of things sometimes!
