Fashion Beauty Friend Friday: Shoes

And another FBFF!! This week  the topic is shoes... My favorite!!  Come join us on Friday's so we can get to know you better!  To sign up go over to see Katie and ModlyChic, she is awesome!!

1.What is your go-to pair of shoes?
ACTUALLY, its boots. If I could wear boots all season I would. I have an absolute boot fetish!!  I love boots. Did I say that already?

2.What goes into your shoe buying decisions?
Number one: does the shoe suit my foot and leg?  I have thick ankles and muscular legs so ie. stiletto shoes wouldn't look so good because my leg would look like it would crush the shoe and heel.  I would look for some version of this kind of shoe with a bit of a thicker heel.  I also ONLY wear flats with leggings. Again, with larger ankles, if I wear a flat and a skirt or dress, my legs just look like they stomped down the heel and its unbalanced looking.
Number two: comfort.  If they are for work- can I walk any distance in these (I often walk downtown for meetings), if they are for fun/going out- would I be able to wear these for between 2-5 hours?

3. The majority of the shoes in your closet are what color?
Animal print and a good variety of neutrals

4. When it comes to designer shoes what are your favorite brands and why?
OHHH this is embarrassing but I dont have a list of high fashion designer shoes that I think are "to die for". I have seen alot of them, but dont have designer names off the top of my head. AND I would likely not wear these high fashion kind of shoes anyway. BUT boots on the other hand.. thats a whole other story!!

5. If price wasn’t an issue, you’d own which shoe?
Similar to #4, I would just have a sh#tload of boots in my closet, of EVERY color. Leather, suede, flat boots, cowboy boots, knee highs, animal print, you name it!!!

Happy Weekend!! oxoxo Jodi

  1. Love your animal print shoes...the flats are so cute! I also love boots, but down in Texas we only wear cowboy boots all year long!!

  2. Love your animal print obsession! I don't own a lot of boots since I have the opposite issue. I have skinny long feet and very small ankle. Baggy boot not too cute!!

ps. You should check out Kate Spade she is kind of high-end, but has the best accessories ever.

  3. Are those boots in #5 like animal hair or wellies? They remind me of my Jimmy Choo Hunter rainboots that are faux croc on the outside but leopard print on the inside :)

  4. Yayayay on the boots!!!! I would love to buy me cream suede pair...for spring, you know? :)

How about we both didn't mention any (any!) of our running shoes??????

  5. I'm kind of in awe of your boot collection as it is. :) Those red boots. yummm.

  6. Love a great pair of riding boots!

  7. Wow the majority are animal print? impressive. I always struggle to find animal print shoes I love! lol

  8. I think bootloving is part of being Canadian. I love my boots, especially brown leather ones, and I have a crapload of them, but if I find a unique, comfy, beautiful pair on sale, I will buy them because in our winters (and springs and autumns) they are the chicest choice.

  9. Ha ha, so happy you said that about not knowing designer shoes! I have heard all kinds of designer names, but never felt the need to pore over their designs, and spending more than around 150 bucks on a pair shoes is just something I can hardly think I would like to do.

And having developed calves and wide ankles myself, I really identified with your prefernces for thicker heels and chunkier shoes.

Also hi, I have been lurking here for a while, and I really like your style!

  10. I love all your shoes in these pics! You have such great style!!

  11. What a gorgeous collection of shoes Jodi, especially loving the animal print. And I'm smitten with the boots, they are always gorgeous. Note to self: MUST buy more. Happy Monday to you. xx veronika

  12. i love all your printed footwear! you always style it so well!

    Chic on the Cheap

  13. I hear you on the boots. I love them and the only downside to the end of winter is that it becomes too hot to wear boots. But you have some great animal print shoes too.

  14. Owww! I love boots too. So comfy. But,it is summer in HK now.... have to wear sandals to survive.
