Creating a Unique Blog

1.  With all the blogging events out there how do you determine which ones to participate in and which ones to avoid?
I have never attended a face to face blogging event. If there were something local maybe I would go, but then again I guess in some ways I would feel like a fraud, like I'm not a REAL fashion blogger or something!!

2. Be honest, have you ever jumped on the bandwagon of some blogging movement/event for the wrong reasons? How did that turn out?  I started my blog in June 2009 so am still fairly new, I wouldn't say I am part of any movement other than love yourself and wear clothes that you feel fabulous in!!

3. How do you give your own flair to a blog event while still maintaining the general mission and purpose?
I'm not actually sure what my own flair is, or if I have some!!  I guess I like to have nice backdrops and I write as I would talk so am being real. I share tidbits of my life so people know I am human and not just pretending.  Overall I guess I just want to inspire people to have fun with their own self expression and how they dress. Don't take it all too seriously!!

4. When determining the best content for your blog what criterion do you keep in mind?
I haven't yet really done much content from other sources, or articles etc since I mostly just share brief bits of info each day.  For my Lovely Ladies monthly section I like to profile ladies who are positive and fun and who have really transformed the way they dress and express themselves so they are also inspiring others.

5. While everything will not suit your blog, how do you try and support your fellow bloggers who are participating in something worthwhile but not your style?
I just love connecting with people. There are some bloggers that I connect with instantly, and those ones are so much fun. They often have completely different style than me but there's a connection.  I like to collaborate with people with a great energy and attitude, style is the icing on the cake!!  You can wear a beautiful outfit but what really makes it is who you are BEING. That's more what its all about for me.  Some of my fav bloggers that always make me laugh/smile:

  1. I really agree with your last answer. I love people who are real, and genuine. They share things about their life, and their posts are full of their personalities. Blogs are just more engaging when you learn about the person.

  5. Just love your picture with the green wall and red scarf! You are so right that some of us have to laugh and not take ourselves too seriously! When I travel for a photo shoot, it might be all the way to the alley behind my house or down the street!! Sometimes I have to wake up my photographer and promise to cook a special meal if he will just take this one picture!!

  16. What great answers! I face the same challenges ad you do, being a new blogger myself. But I agree that the best part of participating in things is connecting with new bloggers. I too enjoy making relationships with other bloggers whose style is often different than mine is - they inspire me to think outside my own little box and challenge the way I approach personal style.

I love the pic of you against the green wall - such interesting contrast!
