No, I won't be peroxiding my hair anytime soon, however I LOVE this look. I have always really loved the bombshell's. The clothing style for the curvaceous bodies (trench coats, high waisted, fitted tops) and the hair is totally awesome. Keep your eyes peeled for me rockin this look. I promise, Jodi and the beehive are coming soon ( I just hope I don't end up looking like Marg Simpson!!)
Happy Weekend Everyone. xox J

Purple and Leather
Please help me understand. Why do we NOT have spring yet?? It is still so cold here, which is unusual. I mean it, I am cold all the time and am still wearing my winter clothes! New earring though :) brrrrr
Too much distraction in the office today so I came home to work for the rest of the day. So nice to have this flexibility.
How is YOUR day going??? xoxo J

Spotted Skirt
And the Jodi girl resurfaces!! YEAH!! To catch up a little:
1. Work is nuts and I am the boss so of course, all the responsibility ends up on my desk (going in early, staying late). We are doing a total overhaul of our organization which is both fun and kindof unnerving at the same time. Lots of learning, to say the least!
2. Training is full ON. Training for Ironman is no small feat. It requires many hours of training and I am putting in a minimum of 18- 20 hours per week of training (not including Yoga and core/weights). In fact, this weekend alone I rode 340km on my bike in 2 days!! What fun. Actually it WAS and I got some sun too (see the hint of a tan on my face? :)
3. Stylish outfits have been secondary. I have been grabbing on the run (this is a fashionista's PROBLEM!!!) Unless I think out an outfit the night before, I usually grab my clothes at 5am when I get up and then hit the pool for my 6am (4 day per week) 1.5 hour swims. I also usually have MAJOR goggle marks under my eyes not not very photo worthy!!
Life is GREAT though. I am getting very lean, toned and fast. Good because I have some big race goals this season. I love training. The race is like the icing. I train for the training itself and the race is just a way to gage my speed and strength. Love it. Anyway, thats it for today. I need new clothes. Thats the next thing on the list.
Miss you all. xoxo Jodi

Casual Day Off
And Monday day off! Up early to 6am Bikrams with my 'man' and then we went to our favorite organic coffee shop for a strong americano and then down to the beach to hang by the ocean for a while. We live in one of the most beautiful cities every. We live 1 block from the ocean, with snowy capped mountain views across the waters, lots of healthy organic restaurants and overall healthy active lifestyles here. I love it and am so grateful for everything in my life!! This weekend we went for a hard 4 hour bike ride, 2 hour hilly run and then drove up island for a family easter dinner. Today I get to relax and do some gardening!!
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!! xxoxo Jodi

Pencil Skirt Leopard Tights
Inside my world today: Rode bike to work in the rain wearing a pencil skirt. NOT recommended. I could hardly pedal for one thing (make sure skirt has some stretch in it). Next, I couldn't put my foot down to the ground very fast in case of stopping quickly (yes this happened and I almost wiped out!). Other issue: booties are slippery on bottom so kept sliding off the pedals as I was pedaling! Lesson Learned!
Tangent: our cats breath reaks! We have given her herbal remedies and even tried brushing her teeth with special stuff (THAT should have been video-taped let me tell you!).
* not our cat but this is kindof what it looked like (LOL)
Anyway to today I am home early because I get to take the beloved to the Cat Clinic for a check up. Little does SHE know. This will be fun. Imagine me driving with fur floating everywhere in the car and an unhappy cat sitting on my shoulder. I will report the event after the fact! Wish me luck!!
AND what about the spring weather you ask? Well apparently we are not getting any this year. Today still felt like a winter day. YES I am still wearing winter clothes!!

Casual Sunday Ride
HELLLOOOOO! I finally came up for air!! I don't know if you have this same thing in the US but here there is this big push for fiscal year end which is March 31 and all the government funding must be reported and closed off. This means for the last few weeks I have been up late working (til midnight most nights) and into the office early. Wrapping up projects, finalizing reports, organizing all the financials. Its been crazy. AND to top it off the weather has sucked big time so hasn't been noteworthy outfit-wise at all. Basically I have just been grabbing whatever is in front of me in the closet and head to work.
Exciting news is that I found a new commuter bike. After being in Beijing and seeing all the great bikes there I thought I wanted to get something cool since it was time to replace my old mountainbike hybrid anyway. I just found this Dutch bike and it is so awesome!! I love it!! It feels really strange riding upright when I am used to being in such an agressive low position on my carbon fibre cervelo triathlon bike. It is totally fun to ride and in fact I was just getting home from the market when I got my man to snap these photos.
Anyway, I fully plan on getting back into the ol outfit posts since you guys keep me honest and creative!! and LOOK, my hair is getting LONG!! Thats also been fun.
Okay. long post, but I missed you!! MWAH xoxo Jodi

Call me Crash (in leopard top)
Happy Monday. A good start today for me- Its crazy windy outside and plastic bags flying through the air and a cat that wont go outside to do her business cuz its too cold out. I make my famous make-shift studio and break the light on the side table while taping the sheet up to the wall. Then, I make my smoothie and the lid wasn't on the Vitamix properly so smoothie is now all over the kitchen ceiling!! LOL. I am laughing and it hasn't made me feel grumpy in the least.. just have to laugh right?
I spent Sunday cleaning out my closet. I hardly have any clothes to wear anymore. I have lost quite abit of weight and none of my pants fit anymore (even though I have taken them in once already) and even my skirts are not fitting all that well. SO time for some shopping. AND I am really looking for a whole style change if I can find one. Growing the hair longer these days so also wanting to find some funky new look. Any ideas you have would be lovely!!
Hope you are all having a great start to your week!!! MWaH xox Jodi

Leopard and Bird
Well hello!! Happy Monday everyone. Today I made a makeshift studio. Yes indeed, a very primitive one at that, however, what else is a girl to do on a very cold and windy day during her lunchbreak at home?
How to Make a Make-Shift Studio (a VERY professional one :)
1 roll of tape
1 wall
1 white (or color of choice) bed sheet
Camera
Tripod
Model
Just tape the sheet to the wall and you are ready to go!!
Now down to business... As you can see, I haven't been very regular on here for awhile, I have been a travel maniac lately. Thailand, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, Kelowna, Vancouver. NOW.I.STAY.HOME. No more multiday work trips for awhile and talk about relief. So on to the outfit. Like my little birdie? One thing you don't know about me is, I LOVE CROWS. I must have just been born this way cuz I have no idea why they intrigue me so much. I have a bunch of cute crow paintings and cards and the fiance gave me this little one for Valentines Day. I keep it on the upper ledge of an old window frame I made into a mirror so it looks like he just flew in the house and is sitting on top of the window ledge. And my outfit, oh yeah, guess I should mention it.. well, the wind blew my damn skirt up around my waist today when walking to work so all the people around me got a good look at my burgundy rear end!! Cheap Thrills!!
Anyway, let me know how the Make Shift Studio instructions work out for you if you try it!! LOL

Workplace Appropriate?
Well Hello!! I am away at yet again another conference for work. This is the last one for awhile. I can tell you I am tired of living out of hotels and not always getting my workouts in due to crappy hotel gyms or weather that is too cold outside!!
Okay, today's musing. Yesterday at the conference I saw several ladies wearing what I would think is inappropriate work attire. Tight black leggings, tight fitted leopard see- through blouse (waist- length) and big knee high stiletto boots. Don't get me wrong- this outfit was pretty hot, but more for a night club or outing with the girls. The other outfit was similar except the boots were knee high patent stiletto and the top was fire engine red with very low cleavage.
These ladies are in the healthcare field. Maybe I am just a prude but I was wondering how seriously people take them if they dress like that at work? Now I know this is a whole area of debate that touches on a wide range of issues so I am curious what you think about wearing these kind of clothes in a professional workplace setting.

Sending Love to my Fashionista Bloggers
Happy Saturday!! I have been so busy at work I basically grab an outfit and get out the door to work. I haven't made time to take outfit photos, and to be honest, haven't felt like I've been wearing anything blog worthy. That said, during this time, because of all the outfits I have put together and assessed through looking at my photos and hearing your comments, I can easily grab an outfit that I know will look good. That is a total change from the past.
I don't know about you, but I am a perfectionist. I have always had very high standards for myself and often beat myself up for not being good enough. Over the years I have gotten immense freedom from this habit and am alot more forgiving of myself and take an attitude of doing my best given what I have to work with. Why I say this is because I notice that it's easy to forget progress that is made along the way, or remembering where you came from, what changes have occurred. I look back at how much I have blossomed in terms of what I wear and how I express myself through clothes and makeup and its easy to forget that I hardly had any style before. And now people comment all the time about my great outfits and how I look. That is awesome. That is exciting. And the thing I love about it the most is that I can inspire others to see that they too can have more freedom to explore how they want to express themselves-- to wear clothes that they love and feel good in. I have cleaned out closets of friends, I have created a network of friends who I often send outfit ideas to that would suit them, I have taken people shopping, I have given people clothes and I have even helped with color combinations for interior decorating. This is the great thing about blogging and all that I have learned. I GET TO SHARE IT, PAY IT FORWARD!! That rocks.
Anyway, the ladies above a from a window in Montreal and they caught my eye and I just wanted to send a little note to each of you who have helped me on my fashion/self expression journey because I have learned something from each of your little pieces of the big internet world. So thank you. Thank you for being so generous with your photos, ideas and sharing of your selves and your lives. Each of you have made a big difference for me and how I can make a difference for others!!!
Have a Super Awesome Saturday!!! xoxo Jodi
