Blue Sweater and Leather

Alright team.. here I am feeling like I am under house arrest!!  I came up to my room during lunch to have some time to myself and snap my photo.. was going to head out to the long hallway but people everywhere!!  So instead I present you with another non-creative hotel room photo with not the greatest light. A photographic challenge today  thats for sure.  While I loved this blue/turquoise long sweater when I bought it I failed to listen to fiance who said " I hate those sweaters, why do all the ladies wear these long shapeless sweaters??".  And now that I see myself in the photo with the sweater on, not so sure if its a good buy (BUT I did get it on sale at a significant discount!!).

Is sunny out so I intend on getting outside as soon as possible.. no fresh air is driving me nuts, that and am still really tired overall.  Not to mention sitting all day listening to a bunch of experts talking.. ho hum dreamin up outfit ideas all the while!  Hi to new followers.. always nice to meet you- If I havent come by to visit you I still owe you a visit!!

Grey Skirt and Jet Lag

Hello from Sunny but COLD snowy Ottawa!! Well I had the absolute pleasure of not only meeting Marilou (Twenty York Street) but being completely spoiled by her as well!! She welcomed me to the city in style I must say and I am totally smitten (not with Ottawa, with HER!!) and she even arranged a bloggers get together so I got to meet some other really lovely and well dressed bloggers! All I kept saying was how much of a fraud I feel.. I do not feel like a fashion blogger.. instead I ended up talking mostly about sports and adventure racing with the guys that were there (NOOOOO I wasnt trying to steal boyfriends.. LOL).  What a  totally awesome night I am still excited about it!!

Anyway pics are from the hotel.. not so hot today..  I am bagged. What I have realized is that with the time difference I have gotten up 2 mornings in a row at 4am and 3am... hence almost falling asleep in my meeting today!!  Time for a NAP. I promise better photos for tomorrow!!!

Beauty Products

1. What's your favorite drug store makeup product and your favorite higher-end product?
Drugstore: Lise Watier Lipstick   Higher-end:  I wouldn't exactly say its higher-end but is a bit pricey.. Aveda stuff always smells great and feels good.

2. Is there one type of product that is your go-to, can't live without?
Vitamin E skin cream.  I need to take care of my skin since I am outside training alot and in the chlorinated pool alot... Vitamin E is so good for the skin, I don't go anywhere without it  (do I sound like an infomercial??? :)

3. What's the best hair product you've ever used?
I really like a variety of LUSH shampoos.. because I swim 4 days per week I look for something natural that will feed my hair and not strip it anymore.. LUSH is all natural and smells pretty good too!!  Yes, I am an Au Natural kinda girl!!  Fav ones are REHAB and BIG.

4. Fess up, what's the worst beauty look you've tried to rock and look back at now with a little shame or apprehension that you actually did that?
This is without a doubt when had 80's hair... that was baaaadd.. and  BIG.  I rocked it then but shudder when I think back.  I would spend hours curling my long hair back in ringlets and then spray it til it was almost hard as rock and didn't move... oh man, what was I doing???? (no, this ISN"T ME!! )

5. When it comes to beauty products, we all use the same basic products. What do you use that helps show off your personal flare and personality?
I am not a big makeup person. All I wear for eye makeup usually is neutral shadow and dark grey liner.  I guess thats my signature look if you want to call it that.. That said.. someone help me... I need a makeup intervention!!! LOL  I sure wish I could figure out how to do the Sophia Loren Look.... LOVE IT!!

Remix 30: Boho on the Rocks

Well... Helllooo Thursday!  I'm working from home today.. Why? I pulled some kind of muscle or something in my leg and I can barely walk this morning... waiting for a physio appointment so I can even move... And that explains my outfit -- I had planned to wear my red skirt and little black ankle  booties for the grand finale  but wearing higher heels wasn't an option! Instead I needed something I could be comfortable in.

Guess what? I am going to meet Marilou of TwentyYorkStreet next week!! I am soooo excited about this.. I already feel like she is a longtime girlfriend and we are just meeting to catch up!!  Can't wait can't wait!!

Remix 29: Leather Skirt

Today's outfit is dedicated to Mariline, a fashionista I met at at funders meeting through work a few weeks ago. She was wearing an outfit very similar to this and inspired me to wear my leather skirt to work! AND, I had 1 unpicked item in my 30 for 30 mix so I choose to pull this one out as that last emergency item!!  I actually really love this outfit.. would never really have thought brown and grey go together but awhile back I canvassed for ideas and many of you sent links to examples of how you have worn these colors together. I love this blog for just that reason... knowing all of you has made my wardrobe 100 times  better. I am dressing in ways I would never ever would have in the past.

Thank you to all of you for your ongoing ideas and comments, I truly love you all and am also feeling really behind on reciprocating the visits.  I do miss visiting as well, like something is missing!!

Last night I also told 2 of my close personal friends about my blog (was telling you before I was shy to share about it with friends) and they both said "HOW COME WE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS EARLIER!!" They wanted to hear all about it!!  One of them even asked if I would come over and help her clean out her closet!! That was a relief to hear!!

Nominated for Best Canadian Fashion Weblog

Doin a little dance.. I got and made the list for the 2011 Canadian Weblog Awards!! woo hoo. Not sure exactly what this means other than now I have to make sure my outfits are really great moving forward.. ohh the pressure. LOL.. Seriously, life has been going so fast, Now March 1, can't believe it.. I was in an amazing course all weekend and even go to meet another fellow (ess) blogger there who I hadn't met before... HI KAT!!! So great to meet you!!  Readers.  I must tell you I was so excited this weekend.. I had so many people comment on my outfits!! That was really cool for me. AND I am looking into taking a course so that I can more easily help people find clothes to suit their body types.. I know my body type since I have read up alot and have visited all of you to learn from you... anyway was inspired to be able to make even more of a difference for others this way.  Stay tuned on this front.

Day 28 of the remix and I am a rebel compared to the first remix challenge I did. Last time i diligently photographed outfits EVERYDAY... this time I am not so disciplined.. as you know my story.. work was crazy and I was traveling alot.. At any rate I have still worn only remix items for 28 days now... 2 more days to go to complete this challenge!!  AND then buy the new trench coat I've been admiring the last 2 weeks!!

Remix 23: Black leggings

BRRRR. Went to get in the car for my 6am swim this morning and WHOA... someone ordered SNOW!
I actually LOVE the snow and would rather have snow than cold so I didn't mind.  Swam 4km this morning, then had a dentist appointment, a few hours working at an internet cafe until I then went to my hair appointment (cut and highlights). It's not any different than what I had before, but today I feel NEW. Clean teeth, refreshed hair cut and voila, Jodi is a NEW person!  I got home quick and took my photos but as  I speak it is getting COLD out!  I plan on spending the rest of the day in my comfy lounging clothes and maybe even make a big batch of popcorn (with no butter of course).  Today is Day 4 of no sugar so am also doing well on that front and its actually easy once getting into it.

Remix 22: Blue Tunic

Okay, I admit it.. this outfit is from Sunday... and I didn't take outfit photos yesterday... but technically this is Remix 22. I have worn 30/30 mix items for 22 days straight.. my photos and posts are just a bit mixed up!! Just got back from my morning swim and heading to work for a long day of number crunching... yes end of the fiscal year coming.. is crazy time!!

But the most essential thing at this time of the year to keep stress levels down, is a fabulous wardrobe. So don't forget ladies and gentlemen, nice clothes ARE the answer to any little problem you may have (contrary to what all these spiritual people say :).  I, Jodi, am kidding of course, but also not really. I don't know about you but I DO feel better when I am wearing something flattering, comfortable and sassy!!!
