Remix 10: Red Skirt

Did I tell you I LOVE GETTING DRESSED IN THE MORNING??? Since I started blogging in June I am excited to get up and get dressed. Everyday is a new adventure!! I have more pep in my step, color in my wardrobe and compliments about my great style! This is a breakthrough for me. I used to feel frumpy all the time, or look like a girl-jock.  Now I have so much fun playing with stuff to wear, scarves, boots, animal prints.. it's just damn awesome. OOOOPS I swore, but really, it rocks!!  I love this fitted look and these shoes I must say are so comfortable!  This outfit I came up with in about 5 minutes after coming home from teaching my spin class. Now at work I am so excited to show off my simple yet chic outfit! Well, at least I think so anyway!!  I just hired a new staff member and her first day of work was Monday. I notice she checks out my clothes, so I am wondering what she thinks of her new boss.....???

AND its sunny today. Had to pull out the good ol sunglasses. Don'tcha just love days like this?
I am guilty of not visiting alot of you lately. Please, its NOT personal. I have been so swamped with work its taking everything I have lately to get my wardrobe outfits posted!!!  I will be by soon I promise and I do miss you, there is a gap in my heart when I dont know what you are each wearing!!!

Remix 9: Green leopard dress

Hump day. Humpa humpa.  Yes I am walking funny today.. no, don't get your mind in the wrong place.. not because it's HUMP day sillies!! But because I had a really HARD Spin workout last night with lots of hill drills and my legs are sore!! SHEESH you guys!!

SEE, I wore animal-type print again today. Now I have to find two more pieces for tomorrow and Friday to finish off the week real good, like proper-style!!  I love this dress, and these boots and the color of the sweater, as a mix, not too bad, but I will experiment with other combinations for the rest of this mix.  I must say, I prefer getting dressed during the 30/30, it is so much easier AND I am alot more creative with my clothes during this time too.

Its sunny today. NICE work, finally someone heard my repeated order for something other than rain!!

Remix 8: Leopard Shoes

Yesterday Zebra. Today Leopard. What do you think it will be tomorrow??? Hmmm?  Whoever guesses the right answer will get a surprise from me... hah hah, whatever. I am kidding of course. But I will now have to wear some kind of animal theme to keep the momentum going. This makes me think maybe I will try to do themes as well as 30 for 30... as if I dont have enough to think about.

I had a nice chat with a man while taking my photos today. He proceeded to tell me how he used to go to Russia to hunt. Then he told me about all the adventures and the animals he killed.  WAS it the animal print I was wearing that jogged his memory of this? I wasn't sure but I packed up very efficiently and bid him fairwell...

My pants are dragging on the ground even with these heels.  That rarely happens. And you hardly see me in pants either. So 2 strange things today.  The world is an interesting place.

Remix 7: Zebra Sweater

I loved my outfit today, I even walked to work briskly I was so excited!! EXCEPT as you can see, the skirt was a tad bit snug and rode up all day! URGH.  I LOVE LUV LOVE the Safari Look and would move to Africa in a minute if I could wear khaki and leopard scarves all day and lounge around in one of those fancy white safari tents. With cool drinks and a fan and wonderful novels to read. Just like back in those great old era movies!!  NO, I would actually be out with the guys chasing down lions, running with the cheeta's.. I can see it now...

Remix 6: Turquoise Ring

Started today with a 2 hour run in the rain with 2 great ladies I train with. Then home, shower, eat and off to the coffee shop to visit with a couple and their little 2 year old son.  The local coffee shop is a cosy used bookstore so since it was raining I got someone to snap my photo for me today.  Casual wear, but is part of my 30/30 mix. And YES,  I managed to spend time putting together my 30 items for the rest of the mix.  Most of the items are boots!! Lucky I don't have to count scarves in the mix... As you can probably see, I have a bit of a boot and scarf addiction!!  To me all my outfits look the same so if you think otherwise, let me know. Also I am open to feedback if you think I should try some other kind of look.. heck, that was the whole reason I started this blog anyway, was to shake up the way I was dressing before.

Remix 5: Field of Dreams

Yabba dabba dooooo. Okay, did any of you watch Skooby Doo when you were younger? Well, I was almost too young to remember it but you get the point. I love the saying Yabba Dabba Doooo, just sounds fun and whacky if you ask me. Thats how I felt out on the field in this wind.. You can tell my hair is all crazy, but HEY> remember my Friend Friday answers about blogging events?  I am a fashion fraud anyway so its not like I need to pretend I am some supermodel. Here you get me in the raw. Good ol bags under my eyes and crazy hair and everything. JODI UNPLUGGED!!

Yes I have a black top in my Winter 30/30 Remix. And I am now officially coining the term 30/30 ON THE FLY. Thats what I did this week is make up my outfits as I went so now at the end of the week I have a bunch of items I have to figure out how to remix and what to add to them.... hmmmmm maybe I could have a reality show??? Kendi is the GOOD example of how to do the remix and I am the alter ego renegade!! LOL, not like I am up there like Kendi or anything.. little ol me from my corner of Canada.  A girl can dream though, right??

I am such a renegade I have 2 days of remix items not photographed or posted so now I have to do a mock day and shoot those outfits... oh the work involved in being a blogger... I know if I don't post I will have angry emails about how I am trying to cheat etc, so I will catch up on this asap!!! LOL, I AM KIDDING OF COURSE.. and please, no angry emails.. hah hah.

Creating a Unique Blog

1.  With all the blogging events out there how do you determine which ones to participate in and which ones to avoid?

I have never attended a face to face blogging event. If there were something local maybe I would go, but then again I guess in some ways I would feel like a fraud, like I'm not a REAL fashion blogger or something!! 

2. Be honest, have you ever jumped on the bandwagon of some blogging movement/event for the wrong reasons? How did that turn out?  I started my blog in June 2009 so am still fairly new, I wouldn't say I am part of any movement other than love yourself and wear clothes that you feel fabulous in!!

3. How do you give your own flair to a blog event while still maintaining the general mission and purpose?

I'm not actually sure what my own flair is, or if I have some!!  I guess I like to have nice backdrops and I write as I would talk so am being real. I share tidbits of my life so people know I am human and not just pretending.  Overall I guess I just want to inspire people to have fun with their own self expression and how they dress. Don't take it all too seriously!!

4. When determining the best content for your blog what criterion do you keep in mind?

I haven't yet really done much content from other sources, or articles etc since I mostly just share brief bits of info each day.  For my Lovely Ladies monthly section I like to profile ladies who are positive and fun and who have really transformed the way they dress and express themselves so they are also inspiring others.  

5. While everything will not suit your blog, how do you try and support your fellow bloggers who are participating in something worthwhile but not your style?

I just love connecting with people. There are some bloggers that I connect with instantly, and those ones are so much fun. They often have completely different style than me but there's a connection.  I like to collaborate with people with a great energy and attitude, style is the icing on the cake!!  You can wear a beautiful outfit but what really makes it is who you are BEING. That's more what its all about for me.  Some of my fav bloggers that always make me laugh/smile: 

Remix 3: lookin for sailors

Right. So. Today I go to the gym, teach my spin class and then shower and go to get dressed. Who forgets to take a bra today?  Not like I am overly well-endowed or anything but not interested in letting the ladies be loose for the day so had to come home and sort myself out!!  So here I am at home eating lunch and now heading back to work.  I am embarrassed to admit I dont have all my 30 for 30 items picked out. I am picking them as I go. On the fly. Thats what kind of few weeks I've been having. Working early, working late. go go go. Missing workouts. Eating bread and other stuff I don't normally eat. I even had a little bicker with the fiance this morning!! ( I have phoned him at work to apologize however!!).  CALGON take me away. Far far away.

These are my new booties by the way. Do you like them??  I wasn't sure about them but like them now... are they okay on me or do they make my legs look like tree stumps???

We're ON, Winter Remix in the Red

Listen to this:  I am quoting this one here-- this what ( I wont mention names) someone wrote on my facebook page yesterday when I didnt post an outfit photo for 2 days:

"ACK! I don't know what you were wearing today!!! I can't function".

I LOVE IT!!!  Apologies to all of you-- I have been in a team planning session for 3 days with my national research group. Our group consists of 8 amazing women from BC, Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick.  We get good work done AND have alot of fun too. However, it threw me off my outfit posting routine, so hence, no photos for Monday and Tuesday.  I DID wear an outfit for Feb 1 as my Day 1 30 for 30 outfit so will have to take a photo of it and post at a later date. I continue on with today, as Day 2 of the remix challenge. (Will post the items later).

Remix Day 2: Red top, polka dot skirt, grey boots.  

I snuck down to the park to take my photos at lunchtime and it was nice to get a little bit of alone time.  I am actually the kind of person who gets recharged by being alone. While I am social and love people, I also LOVE time to myself!!  Work is busy this week and I am working late each night... speaking of which, gotta get back to my report writing!!! Love ya babes!! Green Leopard??

 And we are on to the last day of January! Whoa.. where did THAT go? It is very cold out.. you can tell by my RED nose and the scarf flapping in the wind. This scarf ladies, was a total of $1.50 and my favorite and secret thrift store. I find the BEST stuff there!!  This green is supposedly not my color but I again go against the fashion consultation I was given a few years ago (remember, I am also not supposed to wear low V necks either!!).

Reporting live from an old car insurance repair location where there is an old compressor. I love the old industrial and dumpster-type backgrounds that Jentine of My Edit uses so thats why when I saw this one I had to stop and do my shoot!  This brown top underneath is my brown cowlneck tunic but was too cold to take my jacket off to show you!!  By the way, the earrings are from an ex boyfriend from about 20 years ago if you can believe it. We were both really young but he had good  taste in jewelry. Can't believe I kept them actually cuz he turned out to be a bit of a weiner...

And Guess what?  I'm doing my very second  30 for 30 Challenge with Kendi Everyday and hundreds of other bloggers.  I'll finish picking my outfits and get that all coordinated tonight.   I'm also continuing my January Month of Color declaration on into February and will continue to focus on wearing colors as much as I can.
